Octo-Book Tier Drop!
Y'all came through STRONG with the desire for a book-only tier including all the D&D-material-focused hardcovers we're making, so we've just activated it! This is the Octo-Book Tier, it contains:
Heliana's Forgotten Monsters
Ryoko's Forbidden Myths
The Monster Hunter's Codex
The Yokai Slayer's Codex
The Companion Compendium
The Mech Manual
Mushy's Scrapbook of Scholarly Secrets
Onimushy's Scrapbook of Stolen Stories
This tier is only the books and PDFs - just the core content, enough to make even the sturdiest of bookshelves sweat! Of course, if you'd like the Art Books too, you can grab them as add-ons to this tier, or take a look at the Limited Edition Deluxe Tier which includes all 10 books and a ton of killer dice, handouts, cards, and loads more!

The Secret "Hex Book" Tier
The second most suggested tier was a "Hex Book Tier", featuring either the two Mushy Scrapbooks or the Mech Manual and Companion Compendium. No matter what configuration of books you like, don't fret, it can still be done! The most cost efficient way to grab a book-only package without going into the Octo Tier is to grab the Quad Book tier, and then get any extra hardcovers as add-ons on an ad hoc basis. This way you can easily build a 5-7 book package with whatever combination of hardcovers you're hankering for!

As a reminder, we've posted a breakdown of the contents of each book on the Kickstarter page, as well as in the previous update, and in the FAQs, so you can see exactly what is in each hardcover if you'd like to take a deeper dive!
The Crystal Myth Countdown!
We're entering the final day to grab the early backer Crystal Myth dice set! If you back before Sunday (Pacific Time) and have at least one physical product, you'll get your free Crystal Myth dice set. Here are the exact criteria:
Back before 00:00 am Sunday PST.
Have at least one physical item in your basket/tier when the campaign ends.
The countdown begins!! Let's cook!
That means backing any physical tier, or going for the add-on tier and adding a physical addon all work. Even a $1 pledge now will "reserve" your spot so that, if you add a physical add-on before the campaign's end, you'll fulfill the criteria. The cheapest physical addons are the handouts at $15, y'know... if you're just looking for a way to get dice for a discount.
New Stretch Goal Unlocked!!
Since just yesterday, we've unlocked the terrifying Mechakoboldzilla playable mech AND the mysterious "13th Zodiac Cat Dragon" stretch goals! If you're familiar with the Zodiac myth, you'll know why the cat didn't form part of the 12 (and maybe why cats and rats don't get along so well)! If not, you can discover the story as we journey together to find this mythical, lost dragon!

And that's not all! Not content with giving all the GMs out there a new dragon to terrorize players with, the $1.8 million stretch goal introduces Game Master Cheat Sheets for both Heliana and Ryoko's adventures added for free to their respective core boxes, and to every tier above!
3rd-Party Content KING Kibbles Tasty is also running an amazing campaign! Kibbles’ Compendium of Airships and Artifacts has two new classes (Paragon and Summoner), 30+ subclasses, feats, spells, as well as new rules for Modular Crafting (crafting that is based on modifiers to build magical items—and special artifacts that you can improve as you level—from scratch). Plus rules for building, upgrading, staffing, and fighting in airships. It has custom roles for players to keep them engaged in airborne combat, tons of new airship templates and upgrades to discover, and enemies to encounter! Check it out here!!

New Milestones, New Stretch Goals!
We're just into Day 2 of the Kickstarter campaign, and we've already crused a ton of milestones and unlocked incredible stretch goals! In addition to unlocking digital top down tokens for both core books and both bestiaries, we've picked up Hardcover upgrades and additional content for both Bestiaries, a stunning Deluxe Slipcase upgrade for everyone in the Deluxe and All-In Tier to hold the two core books and two art books in style, two new Maker subclasses added to the core books (one each) AND 16 Boss Monster meals, plus rarity variants, added to Forgotten Monsters and Forbidden Myths (8 each book). Cook up those monsters for some incredible boons!! And that's not to mention the next goal...

A Much Needed Book Summary
A full summary of what is in each core book and expansion, so you can see what is contained in each book!
By far the most requested feedback was a very clear breakdown of each book! Sure, we can see there's lots of cool stuff in Mythozoology, but what stuff is in what book?! This is great feedback, and we've sprung into action to add a full "Books Summary!" section to the Kickstarter page and the FAQ, so you can see exactly what each book contains! There's A LOT, so we've appended it to the end of this update.
Some Frequently Asked Questions!
We've had a few questions pop up in addition to the request for a book summary. We've updated the FAQ, and are working today on another pass on the page to make everything as clear as possible. In the meantime though, here's the answers to a few common questions!
Is any of the material here repeated from Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting and Ryoko's Guide to the Yokai Realms?
No! Mythozoology is all new content, with the exception of a few key rules reminders. If there are references to old content, like if we were to unlock a new subclass for the Tamer or Bender 🥸 🤫 , we'll include a QR code to link to a free PDF of the base Tamer/Bender.
You can expect to see references and easter eggs to content from the OG books (like the NPC Dr Doolots). But in terms of creative content, this is all new baby!!
Can I get the first books in the Heliana & Ryoko's series as part of this campaign?
Yes, absolutely! To avoid confusion and bloat, we're not adding them to the Kickstarter page itself as add-ons. When the time comes to finalise your pledge in backerkit (when you put in your shipping information and claim your free dice, etc.), you'll be prompted with an option to add the original books to your order if you so desire!
There's a lot stuff in Mythozoology - is there an easy way to just grab all the books?
This was a really common request and we are looking into right now! At the moment, only the Deluxe and All-In Tiers give all the books, but they also come with loads of dice, cards, handouts, and plushies. We're ultimately here to support you, and if an "Octo Book Tier" containing all the content books is something y'all are interested in, we can work to make it happen. It will take a few days to organise it and implement it all on the backend, and to work out how the new tier will be packaged. Stay tuned!!

Mythozoology Crashes Kickstarter!! Launch Party!!

Ummm... Did you guys just crash the entire platform?
Well... that's one way to launch!!
This isn't a joke - our launch crashed kickstarter! If you tried to get in within the first 20 minutes of the campaign, you were likely greeted with this error message!
This is the coolest way to self-sabotage I've ever seen!
Don't worry though! Luckily Kickstarter got itself together after about 20 minutes and the page became accessible to everyone! In fact, we're less than three hours into the campaign and have already hit over 2,000 backers and $600,000 raised! You have utterly DESTROYED the initial stretch goals, which means...

So, far we have ALREADY unlocked...
Adventure tokens for EVERY creature in both Forgotten Monsters and Forbidden Myths
Hardcover upgrades for both bestiary volumes, with bonus monsters added!

And we're coming close to unlocking tokens for every monster in Bestiary Vol 2 as well!! All within three hours of launch, with tons more epic stretch goals to come!
Crashing Kickstarters can be stressful - here's a cute familiar to help to the edge off
We're going to keep updating our stretch goals as the campaign progresses to reward all this incredible support with more awesome stuff that we can create! Due to the kickstarter crash, however, we're going to be careful over the next 24 hours - normally we'd be updating our stretch goals immediately alongside every milestone hit, but just to be safe, we're going to avoid shaking the boat too much on our updates to the page. At least until we're certain everything is secure! So, if we pass a stretch goal and don't immediately post the next one, don't worry, it's incoming, we're just giving kickstarter a little room to breathe.
